365: Day 1

untitledThank you, Elli Patrick.

My earliest memory of Elli stems from us being in the same homeroom in middle school. The most immediate following memory is of her showing up to my sixth grade birthday party when no one else did. It’s the latter memory that sticks out in my mind when it comes to my friendship with Elli; even if it weren’t a special occasion, in my mind, it spoke to the fact that her friendship is one based on loyalty, which is a rare find, especially when it comes to someone you’ve been friends with since you were 12. It takes a special type of person to value you at times when you’ve wavered between being a social leper and a social extrovert, and a complete mess in between. There aren’t many people in my life who I feel lucky to call a friend, but it’s an honor and a privilege to be able to call her a friend.
